CHARLES R. PETERSON, 64 ROCKFORD - Charles R. Peterson 64, of Rockford died Aug. 29, 2008. He was born April 4, 1944, in Rockford, the son of Ralph and Elizabeth (Sirton) Peterson. Graduate of East High School in 1963, and received a degree in engineering from Bradley University. Married Marcia McCartney on Aug. 22, 1970, in Belvidere. Served in the U.S. Navy. Chuck was an electrical engineer in the machine tool industry. Member of Vets Club of Bradley University and American Legion Boone Post 77. Chuck was a very proud grandpa. Survived by his wife, Marcia of Rockford; daughters, Emily (Eric) Schneider and their children, Cole, Camden, Caileigh and Kyla of McHenry, Melinda (Mehrun) Elyaderani and their children, Perry, Greyson and Paxon of Westlake, Ohio, and Ann (Kris Erb) Peterson of Oakland, Calif.; mother, Elizabeth (Betty) Peterson of Rockford; sister, Kemi (Jeff) Baxter of Cherry Valley; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carol and Larry Ashley of Belvidere; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, Ralph Peterson. Memorial Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, in Belvidere Funeral Home, 203 Logan Ave., Belvidere, with Chuck's good friend, Joseph Cospito officiating. Interment will be private. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time on Wednesday. Memorials to , 4312 E. State St. Rockford, IL 61108.
