DENNIS 'DENNY' NYGREN, 66 CHERRY VALLEY - Dennis "Denny" Nygren, 66, of Cherry Valley died at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, in UW Madison Hospital, after a battle with leukemia. Born June 23, 1945, in Rockford; the son of Harry and Inez (Peterson) Nygren. Denny was on the Lincoln Jr. High and East High School swimming teams and was a 1963 graduate of East High School. He married Georgia Smith in 1964. Denny worked as a machinist at Rockford Screw Products for 17 years, and was the maintenance supervisor at Olson Funeral and Cremation Services for many years. He was the pitcher for the undefeated Fred C. Olson baseball team. Denny enjoyed his family, and fishing and hunting with his son, granddaughters, and friends. He was a great story and joke teller, you could always count on Denny to make you laugh. He will be dearly missed by his co-workers. Survived by wife, Georgia; son, Gordon (Veronica); granddaughters, Mallory and Amber; brother, Harry (Bonnie) of Ventura, Calif.; sister, Kathy (Frank) Young; brother-in-law, Butch (Judy) Smith; his beloved dog, Licorice; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents. Service at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 10, in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services Ltd., North Main Chapel, 2811 N. Main St., with visitation from 9 to 10:45 a.m.; the Rev.
