Margie Mae Seger, daughter of Lewis and Estella Mae (Fuller) Lierman, fought a courageous battle with cancer and peacefully went to meet her Heavenly Father on the morning of March 6, 2024. She was 79. Margie was born on November 30, 1944 in Cashion, Arizona. Her family moved around the country during her childhood years, but eventually established roots in Rockford, Illinois. Margie graduated from Rockford East High School. Margie married Eugene Seger in 1966 and they had three sons. Brian Seger of Rockford, IL, Eric (Charlene) Seger of Bozeman, Montana, and Mark (Tracy) Seger of Portland, Oregon. Margie is loved by and close to her three wonderful grandchildren Judah, Allison, and Owen, and her fur grandbaby, Denali.
Margie loved all things beautiful. Her talents for serving others and gift-giving, paired with her love of aesthetics, made for wonderful gifts, meals, parties, quilts and more. Margie was a follower of Jesus. She organized a prayer group while her sons were in high school. Her grandchildren are reaping the benefits of their prayers. Margie remained friends with her prayer group for decades. Margie was also a Patriot. She loved her country and volunteered as an election judge from 2014 until she was no longer physically able to serve.
Margie was predeceased by her father, Lewis Lierman, mother Estella Lierman, brother Robert Lierman and her favorite Aunt Helen. Margie is survived by her children Brian Seger, Eric Seger, and Mark Seger; siblings Fred (Lorraine) Lierman and Richard Lierman; half siblings Kathy (Lynn) Hopkins and Ted (Dorene) Lierman; and sister-in-law's Winnie (Lance) Nelson and Sally Lierman
