Steinar Arne Grimstad, 80, of Machesney Park, passed away Friday, January 9, 2026. Born June 1, 1945 in Sarpsborg, Norway, the son of Sverre Kristian and Solway (Mathisen) Grimstad. Steinar married Sheryl Lee Plumb on May 4, 1972 in Las Vegas, NV. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Steinar graduated from Rockford East High (1963) and Rockford School of Business and worked as a mechanical engineer for many local businesses. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. Steinar loved eagles, he saw three Bald Eagles in Rockford, and took a trip to northern Wisconsin just to see Eagle in their habitat. He was a regular blood donor giving 152 pints of blood. People came to the Moose Lodge just for his Bloody Mary’s.

Steinar is survived by his wife, Sheryl Lee; special daughter, Kelly Brady; sister, Evelyn Langsholt; nephews, Mike (Darcie) Fenn, Matthew (Cindy) Fenn, and Paul (Mark Hunziker) Langsholt; and nieces, Tina (Jim) Johnson, and Cindi Fenn. He was predeceased by his parents; sister-in-law, Delores Fenn; and nephew Mark Fenn.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Christ Lutheran Church 425 Riverside Road, Belvidere, IL. 61008.
