Marilynn Louise Champion Obituary Marilynn Louise Champion 1945—2017 Marilynn Louise (Goodin) Champion, 72, of Roscoe passed away unexpectedly Saturday, December 2, 2017. Born May 21, 1945 to Arnold and Frances Goodin in Rockford, IL. She married the love of her life, Gary James Champion on May 28, 1966 in Rockford. Gary and Marilynn were married for 51 precious years. They have three children. Marilynn was a Registered Nurse for over 40 years and loved taking care of others. Marilynn was loved by many and would help anyone in need. She loved and lived her whole life for her children and grandkids. She will be dearly missed by those who were fortunate enough to know her. She loved her grandchildren more than anything. She would never miss an event that her family was involved in. She might have been late, but always made it. She loved traveling with Gary, dining with family and friends, baking with her granddaughter and listening to her grandson's stories. Marilynn is survived by her loving husband, Gary; sister, Barbara (Burt) Swain; children, Bradley (Barbara) Champion, Brian (Jamie) Champion, Jennifer Champion (Michael Piliponis); beloved grandchildren, Dakota, Evan, Cheyenne, Reid, Noah, Abigail, De'reon, Lauren; several nieces; nephews; and dear friends. Predeceased by her parents. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory – Mulford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, Loves Park. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment in Scandinavian Cemetery. A celebration of Marilynn's life will be held immediately following the service at Trinity Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
