Kathleen J. Danielson (Moore)
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Kathy J. Moore on June 21, 2024 at the home of her son, Steve in Belvidere, IL. She passed away peacefully after a brief illness surrounded by her sons, Steve and Brad, and daughter-in-law, Carrie. She was 78 years old.
She was a beloved mother, a precious sister, a cherished cousin, a dear friend, and a wonderful “Mimi” to her grandchildren and great-grandson.
Kathy was born in Rockford, IL on November 5, 1945, the daughter of Marshall and Jane Danielson. As a longtime resident of Rockford, she attended East High School and was part of the school orchestra before graduating in 1963. She went on to marry Theodore “Ted” Moore (ne Venable) and start a family. After his passing in 1985, Kathy went back to school and graduated from NIU. She enjoyed a teaching career at Holy Family, Rockford Science & Technology Academy (Wilson Middle School) and West Middle School.
Kathy was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church for more than 65 years before its closing. She sang in the choir and served as the church secretary for many years. Kathy then became a faithful member of Christ United Methodist Church.
