DAVID ANGEL, 68 KIRKLAND - David Angel, 68, of Kirkland, passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at Serenity Home in Oregon. Born Dec. 10, 1943, in Green Bay, Wis., son of Floyd and Geraldine (Dandoy) Angel. Married Alice Blisk in Rockford in 1965. Graduated from East High School in 1963. David worked for Barber Colman, R & D Theil and retired from Rockford College. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and golfer, enjoyed working on cars, loved animals and was meticulous about his carpentry. He was fair and honest and encouraged higher education. David loved his wonderful and supportive sons and had a special place in his heart for his family, especially his grandchildren, who were his life and loved attending all their sporting events. Survivors include wife, Alice; sons, Allan (Carol) and Andrew Angel; special sister and brother-in-law, Joan (Paul) Bauer; his angelic grandchildren, Adam, Alex, Brody, Austin, Aaron and Allyce. Predeceased by parents. The family would like to give a special thanks to the doctors, nurses and CNAs at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center and Serenity Home. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Drive, Rockford. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford. The family requests guests dress in casual attire.
