Dale Hardy Jr. 1945—2018
Dale Hardy, Jr., 72, of Rockford, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018, in his home, with his loving wife of 53 years by his side. Born December 7, 1945, in Henderson, TX, the son of Clayton Dale and Joyce Hardy, Sr. Graduate of East High School, Class of 1963. He married Marie Rowe on January 16, 1965. Dale completed the machine tool apprenticeship program at Rockford Machine Tool Co., in 1965, and made his career in the machine tool industry. He later owned Rockford Industrial Tool Co., until retirement. He enjoyed spending time with family and especially his grandkids and special relationship with father-in-law, "Pa Rowe". Dale was an avid bowler throughout his life and served on the Rockford Bowling Association (RBA) board of directors and various committees for over 20 years. He was inducted into the Rockford Area Bowlers Hall of Fame in 2006. Dale also had many fond memories of the adventurous day trips and golf excursions that he and Marie went on with their lifelong friends. They were always happy to find their way home! Survived by his wife, Marie; children, Jill of Houston, TX, and Steve of Rockford; five grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; numerous nieces and nephews; sister, Alice (Bob) Partch of Rockford; and brother, Ron (Marilyn) Hardy of Florida.
