Marvin C. Davis, 65, of Rockford, passed away on October 12, 2010 at 10:50 p.m. Born June 20, 1945, in Reno, Nev., the son of Marvin C. and Cecilia Davis. Proudly served in the U.S. Navy and retired from the U.S. Post Office. Marv was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; children, Joseph Davis, Trina (Kevin) Kretsinger, Jeffrey (Gabriele) Davis, Angela Foster, Lisa Boyer and Christina Connolly; grandchildren, Paige, Mason, Gabriel, Emily, Benjamin, Abigail, Jordan and James. Predeceased by his mother, Cecilia. Private services will be held with Rev. Jay Quinn officiating. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Memorials to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
